Omega No. 9028 Reduction Ring Crystal Installation Tool – For Speedmaster MKII & Flightmaster

After many requests from customers, we are pleased to offer our reproduction of Omega’s discontinued No. 9028 Reduction Ring crystal installation tool.

This specialized tool is designed for installing certain Omega crystals that use a gasket seated in the groove along the side of the crystal. During installation, the gasket is placed onto the crystal with a light application of silicone grease. The crystal and gasket are then pressed through the reduction ring, where they are properly compressed and stopped by the retaining groove at the bottom of the tool.

This leaves just enough of the crystal exposed to accurately center it in the watch case. Once aligned, firm thumb pressure is applied to the tool, gently pressing the crystal out of the reduction ring and into the case.

For these specific models, this tool is essential. Attempting to install these crystals with a standard crystal press can easily crack or shatter the crystal. The reduction ring properly compresses the gasket and supports the crystal during installation, allowing for a controlled and reliable fit.

Each tool is manufactured in-house at the TM Watch Co. shop on our Mori Seiki CNC lathe. We machine them from very rigid 7075 aluminum, chosen for its excellent strength, durability, and long service life. These tools are built for professional use and are capable of installing crystals thousands of times when used properly.
